A civil court in Chennai has extended the interim stay against Vijay’s much awaited Thuppakki over copyright controversy till August 1
On hearing a petition filed by makers of the film titled Kalla Thuppakki, the Chennai civil court has extended the stay on Vijay’s film. The charge against the Vijay-starrer was that its producers unlawfully registered the title by using the influence of the actor’s father SA Chandrasekaran (president of Tamil Film Producers Council), despite a similar title – Kalla Thuppakki – being already registered.
When the petition came up for hearing recently, the court issued a temporary stay, sought the views of Film Chamber of Commerce and Cinema and TV Producers Guild, and posted the case for July 25. On Wednesday, the Guild and Chamber sought time to respond. Following this, the court extended the interim stay and posted the case for further hearing on August 1. Looks like the fans have to wait a little longer to see their favourite actor on screen again.
