Suriya, Karthi donate Rs 1 crore; get theatre named after their parents

The siblings get a theatre named after Sivakumar and Lakshmi Sivakumar

In a unique gesture, star siblings Suriya and Karthi have donated Rs 1 crore to the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC), to name after their parents one of the preview theatres it is constructing to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema.

Following this, the SIFCC has announced that out of the three preview theatres, one will be named after Sivakumar and Lakshmi Sivakumar, parents of Suriya and Karthi.

It is said that Sivakumar, who himself is a veteran actor, and his wife Lakshmi, were totally surprised when they came to know about the gesture of their sons.

While Suriya is currently acting in Singam 2 and will soon move on to films to be helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Lingusamy, Karthi is part of projects such as Biriyani and All In All Azhaguraja.Subscribe to me on YouTube
