Tamil filmmaker Rasu Madhuravan passes away

The well-known Kollywood director was suffering from throat cancer, say reports

Kollywood director Rasu Madhuravan passed away in Chennai this morning. He was 44. A well-known filmmaker in the Tamil industry, Madhuravan worked with Manivannan, who also died not so long ago (June 15).

Reports indicate Madhuravan was suffering from throat cancer. The director made his debut with Poomagal Oorvalam. He also made the acclaimed Mayandi Kudumbathar, which sensitively dealt with relationships in a rural setting.

Madhuravan more recent films have been Muthukku Muthaga, Goripalayam and Parthom Pazhaginom. In 2013, he made Sogusu Perundhu and Mike Set Pandi. He also appeared as an actor in Konjam Veyil Konjam Mazhai.
