The Vijay-starrer will finally hit the screens. Apparently, the makers have been able to convince some ‘influential people’ that the film is not making any political comment
The long wait for Vijay and his fans is almost over, for Thalaivaa will finally hit the screens on August 20 after several roadblocks. The deadlock ended on Saturday evening after Vijay and his father S A Chandrasekar convinced some ‘influential people’ that they did not have any political aspirations and there was no political undertone in the film.
Thalaivaa, which was originally slated to hit the screens on August 9, could not release because theatre owners alleged that they received bomb threats. Also, a case against the movie was filed in the Madras High Court.
Following this, Vijay, his father SAC and the film’s producer Chandraprakash Jain made emotional pleas to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, seeking her help to release the movie.
Now that the issue has been resolved, Vijay fans are eagerly waiting for August 20 to celebrate the release of Ilayathalapathy’s next.
