‘Traffic’ to be remade in Hindi with Sunny Deol

Jimmy Shergill and Imaad Shah have also been confirmed; Rajesh Pillai will direct

The deals have been fixed and it’s now official: Malayalam superhit Traffic is going to be remade in both Tamil and Hindi. The Tamil remake was announced by Kamal Haasan long back. The Hindi remake, however, was a faint idea and lacked any solid backing. But, all that’s changed now.

Endemol India banner will make the Hindi version, and it will directed by Traffic director Rajesh Pillai. Endemol India MD Deepak Dhar has confirmed the project and also revealed that it will star Sunny Deol in the role of Rahman, Jimmy Shergill in the role of Kunchacko, and either Nana Patekar or Manoj Bajpai in the role of Sreenivasan. Radhika Apte will play a key role. Imaad Shah, son of Naseeruddin Shah, will play the role played by Vineet Sreenivasan. A leading Mollywood actor will appear in a cameo and another Bollywood superstar will be been seen as the commissioner, portrayed by Anoop Menon in the original.
