Finally, Urumi, originally released in Malayalam is hitting the theatres in Tamil

Genelia D’Souza and Prithviraj starrer Urumi was a blockbuster when it released in Malayalam. The makers have decided to release the Tamil dubbed version in theatres.Directed by Santosh Sivan, the movie chronicles the visit of Vasco da Gama to India and a youth’s attempt to murder him. Kalaipuli S Thanu will release the movie in over 250 screens across the State. The film features Prabhu Deva, Genelia, Prithviraj, Vidya Balan and Arya among others. Made in Malayalam originally, the film won rave reviews and was screened at various international film festivals and garnered positive reviews from both the critics and audience.

As a result, expectations are now high on Urumi. Commenting on the film Santosh Sivan said, “It is a historical drama and I am confident that it would do good and win accolades of one and all in Tamil Nadu.” “With a huge star cast and a catchy story, it was a delight in being part of the movie,” added Prithviraj.
