Vasantha Balan creates a village for ‘Aravaan’

The filmmaker is working hard for the success of his period film

Director Vasantha Balan has endeavoured to create a village of 100 huts around Arittapatti hills near Melur in Madurai to form the background of his film Aravaan, which is based on a slice of south Indian life in the 18th century. The cast, including Aadhi, Pasupathi, Archana Kavi and Dhansika, will spend a considerable time in this artificially created village by art director Vijay Murugan, for the shoot. After the critically acclaimed Veyil and Angaditheru, Vasantha Balan is attempting a period film with a lot of conviction.
