In the early stages of his film career Vijay sang more than a few playback numbers. But the actor gave up the mic once made it to the A-list among Tamil actors
The Ilaya Thalapathy who had given up crooning for movies has picked up the mic again for his forthcoming film Thuppakki. The song is a party number which has been composed by Harris Jayaraj and was recorded in Mumbai recently. The music director posted on his blog: “Well…Just tried actor Vijay to sing a party track for Thuppakki in Mumbai and he came up with flying colours.”
A R Murugadoss, who is directing the action adventure has posted a picture of the actor recording for the track. The news that Vijay has sung a number in Thuppakki has made his fans extremely happy. They are now eagerly waiting the the audio release of the film. The south star has music imbibed since childhood from mother, Shobha Chandrashekar who is a classical singer. Besides singing, Vijay is spreading his wings in the production front as well. He’s floated a production house called Ghilli Films, naming it after his blockbuster. The first venture from Ghilli Films would be the remake of Sattam Oru Iruttarai, which was made by Vijay’s father S A Chandrasekhar’s in 1981. The remake will star Vikram Prabhu, grandson of thespian Sivaji Ganesan. It will also feature Ko girl Karthika as the female lead. With so much going on, Vijay will be extremely busy to acomodate anything else.
