At a time when actors in Kollywood are going crazy about sporting six-pack abs, popular south actor Vijay insists on having a better script
The actor who is currently basking in the success of his recent release Velayudham says, “The script is more important for the success of a film than six-pack abs. I have no objection with actors sporting a toned body. In fact, it would definitely add value to the role if it is an action-packed film. But before that, they should make sure that the script is equally mighty.”It seems the actor, who has suffered a great dent in his career due to some really faulty scripts, is now on track. Elated with the response to Velayudham, he says, “The credits should go to the whole team led by director Jayam M Raja. Though the film was inspired by the Tollywood hit film, Azad, Raja gave a fresh flavour to it, making it more appealing to the Tamil audience.” The actor is now gearing up for his next release during Pongal. Nanban which is the remake of Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots will see Vijay playing a pivotal role. The film has Jiva and Srikanth as the other two protagonists and Shankar is set to helm the project. “The movie will come with Shankar’s unique stamp,” says Vijay.
