Kollywood is abuzz with three big films are gearing up for Diwali release`
Festival releases have always been Kollywood’s sure shot formula for box office success. Be it Pongal, Tamil New Year or Diwali, the filmmakers never miss a chance to cash in on the general jolly mood of the masses. Diwali is Tamil industry’s favourite with big films lined up against one another, superstars battling against each other for super stardom.
Come this Diwali, the fans are in for a special treat as three big stars lock horns. Vijay’s much awaited AR Murugadoss directorial Kaththi is said to be in full blown post production mode gearing up for Diwali release. Ace director Shankar’s Ai starring superstar Chiyaan Vikram and Amy Jackson along with AR Rahman’s musical score is set to hit the theatres during the festival of lights. Vishal Krishna-Shruti Haasan starrer Poojai is also slated to entertain the audience this Diwali. While Vishal may not be as big a star as Illaya Thalapathy Vijay or Vikram, but his last two releases Pandiya Naadu and Naan Sigappu Manithan have enjoyed super success at box office.
All the three films have kept the plot in closed wraps, so it is hard to say what to expect this Diwali. Also, it has been observed earlier that when big films clash with one another, there is always a distribution problem as there are not enough screens to do justice to the big budget films. This may lead to postponing of one or two big films as the makers would want a wide release and no tough contest at box office. Lets hope that is not the case this Diwali.
So gear up for a fire cracker of clash at box office with Kathhi, Ai and Poojai taking on one another this October.
