‘Vikramarkudu’ remake pushes Akshay-Sonakshi to work hard

Can Akshay-Sonakshi’s Rowdy Rathore match the success of Vikramarkudu?

Ravi Teja starrer Vikramarkudu was one of the biggest Tollywood hits of the past decade, and the movie is still remembered for the impact it had on the box office. After being remade in Kannada as Veera Madakari and in Tamil as Siruthai, the superhit franchise now moves to Hindi with the Prabu Deva directed Rowdy Rathore. The film brings together eminent personalities like producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, director Prabhu Deva and lead actors Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, who will debut as a pair in Shirish Kunder’s 3D-flick Joker. Prabhu Deva hopes to recreate the Vikramarkudu magic in Bollywood. Akshay will be playing two characters here: a cop and a goon. Sonakshi, on the other hand, has reportedly shed weight for her role and is working hard with dance master Saroj Khan to deliver a masterpiece dance number that would hopefully be on par with the famous Saroj-Madhuri numbers we revere.
