A government press release confirmed that the superstar wished the new chief minister from Singapore
Superstar Rajinikanth may be far away in Singapore, but he has kept himself updated about the latest happenings in Chennai. A Tamil Nadu government press release has revealed that Rajinikanth had called Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa long-distance when she assumed office. It said: “The 61-year-old actor greeted Jayalalitha, saying the state had been ‘saved’ after she won the April 13 polls by a massive mandate against DMK, thus becoming chief minister for the third time. The CM expressed her happiness over his recovery and wanted him to return to Chennai at the earliest.”
Rajini is now recuperating in his posh apartment in Singapore and plans to return to Chennai next month. His entire family – wife Latha, daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya, sons-in-laws Dhanush and Ashwin and grandchildren Yatra and Linga—is with him.
