Mollywood’s superstar Mammootty is looking forward to his son Dulquar Salman’s big debut. But is also waiting for his own movie a week later
What can be more hurting to the box office collections of two superstar films than a newcomer coming in between to take away praise and success. Mollywood may see just that happening when Dulquar Salman, son of Mammootty, debuts on the silver screen with Second show, on February 3. The young actor and his team of friends are hitting the screens with all the youth force. And the exhaustive social media marketing for the film also ensures a huge initial. The film releases just a week after Mohanlal’s Casanovva and a week prior to the release of Mammootty –Suresh Gopi starrer King & Commissioner.
In the event of the movie becoming a blockbuster, it will eat into the BO collections of both the superstar’s movies. Dulquar, who is already doing his next film with Anwar Rasheed, titled Ustad Hotel, has a huge burden of expectations on his shoulders. If the film delivers, he is surely going to become the rising superstar of Mollywood, giving competition to likes of Asif Ali and even Prithviraj. But the verdict will only be out once the film hits the theatres, till then we have our fingers crossed for the newbie.
