Will Kajal Agarwal be banned from south cinema?

She apparently never considered herself a south Indian actor

After Ileana D’Cruz, it is Kajal Agarwal’s turn to face the ire of Tollywood bigwigs. Known to be a thorough professional, Kajal seemed to get (uncharacteristically) carried away at the promo event of her Hindi flick Singham. Why else would she, who cut her teeth in south cinema, admit to having never considered herself a south Indian actor, given her north Indian lineage? Having firmly ensconced her foot in her mouth, Kajal is now hoping that she can quietly extricate it without further damage! The question is, will her co-stars and producers take kindly to the comment? Initial reactions suggest that neither Tollywood nor Kollywood have liked her statement. Her south Indian colleagues are reportedly miffed with Kajal for making such a remark, as it was these two industries that stood by her at a time when she was sulking after a disastrous debut in Bollywood. While the moderates are asking for an unconditional apology from Kajal, extreme elements are seeking a ban on her. Will this honest remark make regional filmmakers look inwards for acting talent instead of chasing pretty imports?
