While the devout Islam followers would break their month long holy fast, three known faces from Tamil industry will also join in the Eid celebrations this year. As you gobble down some delicious sheer korma, we bring you a list of South Indian stars who had converted to Islam, celebrating their first Eid this year:
Yuvan Shankar Raja
In February 2014, the second son of musical maestro Ilaiya Raaja, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, had accepted that he follows Islam. The star music director had tweeted,“Yes, I follow Islam and I’m proud about it. Alhamdhulillah.” Anjaan music director also informed that his family supported his decision and his Islam conversion has nothing to do with fellow music scorer AR Rahman. This would be Yuvan’s first Eid, so we will keep tabs on what Kollywood composer is up to in this festive occasion.
Raja Rani star Jai was the next one to follow Yuvan’s suite to accept Islam in April. Though the actor has not officially converted to Islam, he is said to be strictly following the month long fast this year. Though Jai, who is quite active on twitter, has never mentioned about embracing Islam, it is sources close to him who claim so. Will Jai open up on following Islam this Eid?
Popular heroine Monica who has performed in various Tamil and Malayalam movies had revealed that she had converted to Islam this year. The Jannal Oram diva had even changed her name to MG Rahima and had announced retirement from films. Monica admitted that she took this decision because she liked principles of Islam. The actor who is planning to tie a knot soon, will be celebrating her first Eid this year.
