It’s official – Deepika Padukone will be Rajinikanth’s consort in ‘Kochadaiyaan’

It’s official – Deepika Padukone will be Rajinikanth’s consort in ‘Kochadaiyaan’

Deepika Padukone, and not Katrina Kaif, will play Superstar Rajinikanth’s leading lady in Kochadaiyaan 3D
Soundarya R Ashwin, better known as the daughter of India’s only Superstar Rajinikanth, has ended weeks of speculation and announced that Deepika Padukone will be the heroine of Kochadaiyaan. As is customary these days, she broke the news on Twitter, saying: “Guys. Deepika padukone confirmed to play appa s pair in Kochadaiyaan 🙂 great to have you back with us @deepikapadukone :):) big hug!” Deepika’s gain is Katrina Kaif’s loss as the Chikni Chameli’s name was earlier being bandied about as the Kochadaiyaan heroine. Soundarya also confirms that she and her tech team from the UK and US are hard at work on the film. The shoot will begin in March but pre-production is on. AR Rahman had earlier recorded a song for the film with Germany’s Babelsberg Orchestra in Mumbai. Click here to read more

The actor is reportedly bouncing into a rebound in her personal life, going back to the first lover we have heard of, Nihar Pandya, after her romantic liaison with Sidhartha Mallya went kaput. In between, there was also news of Ranbir Kapoor trying to woo her back, but that could be just a PR gimmick, since the two will soon star in a film together. Click here to read more

The music for Kochadaiyaan is scored by the Oscar Award-winning composer AR Rahman. Rajini’s song was recently recorded in the studio under the music maestro’s guidance. Guess the 3D animation flick will be a double treat for Rajini’s fans. It’s not every day that a superstar picks up the mic for his fans. Karisma Kapoor gives the first shot of her comeback film

Karisma Kapoor gives the first shot of her comeback film

Vikram Bhatt took only one shot of Karisma Kapoor on the first day of the shooting schedule for his new 3D film Dangerous Ishq, and then called for pack up. It was a shot of Karisma’s hand putting a bunch of keys on the table. Vikram took this shot as a token, as he wanted to avoid commencement of shooting during the inauspicious period of shraddh. But it seems the shot almost didn’t happen because the 3D equipment didn’t arrive on time. This was Karisma’s first shot since the Deewangi song for Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om.
