AAZAAN movie review: Hollywood style action with a ‘desi’ let down
Despite the unconvincing leading man of Prashant Chadha’s espionage thriller, Aazaan is a one-time watch, if only for the action and Candice Boucher, of course! The movie makes a promising start, but the moment Sachiin Joshi arrives on scene, the disconnect begins. A film of this stature needed someone like Hrithik Roshan, who could have delivered the chops, but by any stretch of imagination, one can’t believe that Joshi, who plays the title role can save a jeopardised country. The film takes a lot of creative liberties but the visuals which are almost at par with Hollywood, somehow manage to keep you interested. Dalip Tahil has been criminally wasted and so are the other actors. Ravi Kissen’s dialogue delivery in Hindi is an outdated version, which is not used anymore. Candice Boucher makes a glorified cameo but looks sinfully gorgeous nevertheless. The climax ensures that you will not walk out angry or heavily let down.

The Aazaan actor confessed in a recent interview that “I did know about Bollywood before doing this film because while growing up in South Africa, we did have a few Indian movies showcased on the TV. I was aware a little bit about the industry that it’s very colourful and has a lot of music and dance,” Candice Boucher told IANS in an interview. “I don’t remember the names of the film right now, but as far as the actors are concerned, I am a big fan of Aishwarya Rai. She is gorgeous and a great actress too. The fact that she has made a mark not only in Bollywood but also Hollywood, speaks a lot about her. She is beautiful,” added the model who visited India six times earlier and loves the family bond people share here.

Who is Candice Boucher? She is a South African who has modelled for magazines like Cosmopolitan, FHM, GQ, Sports Illustrated and Elle. She has appeared in international ad campaigns and also been the face of brands like Guess Jeans. She has also been on the cover of Playboy magazine in April 2010. And now, Candice is in India. Any Bollywood actor would envy the guy who has been paired with supermodel Candice Boucher, in his very first film, but there is more to it than just the arm candy
Though Arya Babbar made his Bollywood debut in 2002 as a lead actor in Ab Ke Baras, which tanked at the BO, he has been content doing roles which are far away from the lead roles which he might like.
