Almost two months after Beti B was born, the Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan are yet to come up with a name for her. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek had asked their fans for suggestions and Abhishek’s Twitter account was full of possible names for the past few weeks. While everyone’s still mum about the final name, Abhishek’s close friend spilled the beans on their plans. The Bachchans have narrowed down their options to two names and both begin with double A. Abhi and Ash have approved the names and now it is up to the senior Bachchan to decide which will better suit Beti B, or Bitiya – as Big B likes to call her. The buzz is also that the name will be officially announced only on Makar Sankranti, which falls on January 15 this year. The period till then is supposedly very inauspicious. Ahem.

Amitabh Bachchan signs Shirish Kunder’s film ‘Common Man’
After striking a chord with the ‘aam aadmi’ or common man of India with Kaun Banega Crorepati 5, Amitabh Bachchan has now signed Shirish Kunder’s Common Man and says nobody is ordinary. The 69-year-old megastar, who has been enjoying the company of his newborn grandchild (Aishwarya and Abhishek’s daughter), had been pondering over a pile of scripts for a long time. But he has now zeroed in on this film. “So finally a decision! Doing Shirish Kunder’s film ‘Common Man’. Starting in a couple of months .. koi bhi insaan aam nahi hota (Nobody is ordinary),” Big B posted on Twitter. Kunder is excited about his long-pending dream coming true. “My dream to work with @SrBachchan finally comes true. Have waited for 6 years for the right script. And ‘COMMON MAN’ is that film,” film editor-turned-director posted on Twitter. “‘COMMON MAN’ is an inspiring story that every person can relate to & inspire them to realise their uniqueness & achieve success through it. And who better than @SrBachchan to convey this noble story and inspire every COMMON MAN,” he added. Kunder’s other forthcoming projects are Joker and Kick.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has thanked his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan on his birthday for giving him the right guidance and making him the person he is. “My father’s Birth Anniversary today, 27th Nov… In prayer and in thoughts with him… a great human, great mind, and a great Father,” Big B posted on Twitter. “All that I am is because of him… his guidance, his morals, his culture and his ethics… now just fond memories of his to live with. A day spent in remembering his words his wisdom and his presence… prayer for his peace in his heavenly abode,” he added. These days the 69-year-old is enjoying the company of his granddaughter, Aishwarya and Abhishek’s child.

Ha ha ha,” Amitabh posted on his blog. “The moments spent with her even though one encounters shut eyes, are the most pleasant and fulfilling, but what after.
