Dhanush to perform ‘Kolaveri di’ on ‘Star Ya Rockstar’ finale
Actor-singer Dhanush and composer Anirudh Ravichander of Why this kolaveri di will appear on the grand finale of the show
Tamil star Dhanush, who has become a rage after his song Why this kolaveri di, will be seen in the grand finale episode of Zee TV’s singing reality show Star Ya Rockstar as special guest. The actor made a rocking appearance and sang his current hit Kolaveri di. He was accompanied by the composer of the song Anirudh Ravichander. “When Anirudh and I worked on Why this kolaveri di, we just had a lot of fun and were so casual about it. We had not the slightest inkling that the song would sell like hot cakes and go viral on the Internet,” Dhanush said at the grand finale. The actor-singer wants to meet Sonu Niigaam’s son Nevaan and also make a video with him!
Tamil star Dhanush’s chartbuster Why this kolaveri di is being loved by all, but he is highly impressed with the version sung by Sonu Niigaam’s four-year-old son, Nevaan. “Oh my god I’m in love with Nevaan’s version of ‘Kolaveri’. Great idea Sonu Niigaamji. It’s very touching and endearing. Hi 5 nevaan. God bless,” Dhanush posted on micro-blogging site Twitter. Neevan’s version of the song has some different lyrics, but his innocence in the video has been winning hearts ever since it went online. If Dhanush’s song was called ‘Soup Song’, Neevan calls his version ‘Milk Song’. Hindi film actor Abhishek Bachchan feels that it is unfair that people associate Tamil star Dhanush, who has an impressive body of work, just with the Why this kolaveri di song. “He is a very dear friend of mine, Dhanush. Very famous and very prominent actor from Chennai. Of late, unfortunately they only seem to know him because of Kolavari di but, he has done great work down there. He is a wonderful actor,” said the 35-year-old actor. Kolaveri di has received over 17 million hits on YouTube till now and Abhishek terms it as one of the greatest hits of the year. “I think it’s outstanding and wonderful because it has been made by two very dear friends of mine, Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya. I think it’s a fantastic song. He is a very talented guy and Anirudh, the music director has done a great job. I wish them all the best. It’s one of the greatest songs of the year,” said Abhishek who is awaiting his next release Players by director duo Abbas-Mustan. Players, which is releasing January 6, also stars Bobby Deol, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonam Kapoor. Abhishek is also working on Rohit Shetty directed Bol Bachchan and Dhoom:3.

After Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek is also on to the Kolaveri trip. He likes the song Why this Kolaveri di so much that he has tweeted to the young music composer, Anirudh Ravichander. Abhishek, whose Twitter handle is @juniorbachchan, says, “hi anirudh. Just got ur handle. Kolaveri di is outstanding. Very well done!!! You just made me a huge fan. All the best. AB”. Anirudh (@anirudhravichan) has in turn thanked Jr Bachchan, saying, “Thank you so much sir! :) Im honored :)”. Amitabh Bachchan also had recently tweeted, “Just heard #Kolaveri after much talk on it … its so original and catchy ..congrats Dhanush and Aishwarya (Rajni’s daughter) .. love”. Looks like this 21-one-year-old lad is gonna go a long way!
