Salman-Anil-Fardeen’s ‘No Entry’ sequel confirmed

At last guesswork and hearsay over the sequel of the super-hit film No Entry can be put to rest. Director Anees Bazmee recently said in an interview that the sequel will be made depending on Salman Khan’s  availability of dates, but it will certainly happen. This also puts an end to the rumour of a rift between the filmmaker and the superstar. Anyway, Bazmee intends to meet the Dabangg dude with the final script next month. The sequel is  titled- No Entry Mein Entry. Apart from Salman, the heroes from the original film, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan will also be a part of this comical riot. However the women – Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley & Esha Deol – may not be seen in the sequel. Well, with the men having all the fun, we are sure these women don’t mind missing being part of it!

Rina Golan’s letter to Shahrukh Khan creates a stir in B-town

Casting couch is not a new issue in Bollywood, and now Jerusalem-born, New York-raised Rina Golan, has created a stir by accusing industry veterans Subhash Ghai, Anup Jalota, Anees Bazmee and even Dr Ali Irani in her 119-page biography, where she claims they have all asked her for sexual favours. The book, Dear Mister Bollywood is said to be a letter to Shahrukh Khan which spins off into Rina’s life story of her struggle to survive and her hunger to succeed, but not at any price. Golan claims that her love for Bollywood has not diminished because of her experiences. “My book is about Shahrukh Khan. I needed to reach out to him. I fell in love with India, Bollywood and SRK,” said Rina, adding, “Yes, I have had some good and some bad experiences in the industry. But that is life. None of this has changed my feelings about the country. I still love India, Bollywood and Shahrukh Khan.” Golan however says her book is not just about the casting couch but also about “Courage, honesty and integrity,” and that she intends to find her “dream life” in the city.

Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’: An easy escape?

Is going to the movies the same as going to a nightclub?

It’s that time of the year again. A Salman Khan movie has been released and we are playing out a familiar ritual. But critics have panned it, earning the predictable battering from legions of Salman fans. My Twitter timeline is filled with abuses—from ‘sadistic’ and ‘witch’ to unprintable epithets (and this when I didn’t even review the film; I just wrote a column positing Salman as Bollywood’s last rockstar). The audience is ‘Ready’

The august Cineswami was inspired to pen this piece after reading Anupama Chopra’s excellent disquisition on how mainstream Bollywood audiences heap opprobrium on film critics when they criticise hit films like Ready

Now, Cineswami is not a critic, though he (or she as the case may be) has the annoying royal tendency of referring to himself or herself in the third person or indeed, frequently use difficult words like ‘disquisition’ or ‘opprobrium’ that are also annoying to the lay Bollywood fan. Rather, Cineswami is a film trade pundit who wades through the mire that is the minutiae of film business so that you don’t have to. Click here to read more
