The director of this Manoj Bajpayee-Arjan Bajwa starrer is the protégé of the man who directed films like Cash and RA.One. That is hint enough to tell you what to expect…
To begin with, the director of Lanka, Maqbool Khan, has totally lived up to his mentor Anubhav Sinha’s benchmark. The female protagonist of the film is almost as confused as the heroine of RA.One, played by Kareena Kapoor, who danced with a robot who looked like her dead husband. The lead protagonist (or antagonist) played by Manoj Bajpayee in Lanka, along with Arjan Bajwa, the actor who plays the part of his brother, are blessed with powers only superheroes can boast of. They don’t literally fly around but, God forbid, if you do end up watching the film, you’ll nod your head in agreement with me. Click here to read moreManoj Bajpayee: A passionate lover in ‘Lanka’

Bollywood has seen the rise of a couple of Raavans in the recent past, and Manoj Bajpayee plays the last of the kind in 2011 in Lanka, a Vikram Bhatt film. According to him this Raavan is unlike his contemporaries. Click here to read moreDeepika, Dia, Urmila at the launch of ‘Good Food’ magazine

Hema Malini is still called ‘Dream Girl’, but it ain’t a tag her daughter Esha – however great her shape may be – can inherit easily. The fond mum insists her daughter can act; audiences have not yet seen much evidence of that, though there was a hint in the rather offbeat Just Married and perhaps some promise in her debut, Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. Esha is a far better classical dancer than an actor, but it is perhaps her lineage that will not allow her to give up trying to make it on the big screen. Click here to read moreOn the
