We received an overwhelming response for our first awards. Not only did BollywoodLife’s readers vote, but also posted comments and shared the awards page on social networking sites. From that, we figured that most of you are pretty sure about the choices you have made about voting for your fave actors and their films. Here’s the list of winners chosen by you, the readers of BollywoodLife. Remember, visitor voting is the only method used for BollywoodLife Awards 2011. Which was the best item song sizzler of 2011? BollywoodLife readers have chosen Katrina Kaif’s song Aaya re aaya from Salman Khan’s film Bodyguard as their fave. Katrina and the song garnered 45.92% – that is 400 votes! Deepika Padukone’s Mit jaaye gham from Dum Maaro Dum was way behind with 20.32%. Third was Aamir Khan’s Disco Fighter song I hate you (like I love you) from Delhi Belly with 12.86% votes. Mallika Sherawat as Jalebi bai from Double Dhamaal wasn’t much appreciated at 10.68% votes. The last three were Lisa Haydon (Shake it saiyyan from Rascals) with 4.48% votes, Amitabh Bachchan (Go Meera from Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap) with 3.33% votes, and Shweta Tiwari (Katto gilehri from Miley Naa Miley Hum) with 2.41% of the share. Who will be the best Khan in 2012? Shahrukh Khan, the winner of the Best Khan of 2011 award, managed to trump Salman Khan in this one, too – 54.54% votes! Shahrukh fans have a lot of confidence in their chosen Khan for the next year, even though they were a little disappointed with RA.One and Don 2 both. Shahrukh stars in Yash Raj Films new project with Katrina Kaif that releases in 2012. Salman Khan got 29.13% votes, far less than SRK, although he has two major releases next year - Ek Tha Tiger (Katrina Kaif ) and Sher Khan. Aamir Khan, who will be seen in Talaash with Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor next year, garnered only 14.51% votes for his expected 2012 fare. Saif Ali Khan got a dismal 1.83% votes, although his ratings might shoot up later in 2012 with marriage to Kareena Kapoor. Total votes for the award were 1,806. Salman Khan still rules the hearts of the ladies. The 46-year-old has beaten younger stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh to win the Biggest Casanova of Bollywood award, with 44.99% votes. Salman has dated Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali, Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif and is great friends with Asin, Zarine Khan and Mahek Chahal. Ranbir Kapoor, another top contender for Biggest Casanova, came in second in the category, with 27.35% votes. His dates include Deepika Padukone, Nandita Mahtani, Sonam Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Nargis Fakhri and Angela Jonsson. Shahid Kapoor is on No.3 with 20.28% votes. The ladies in his list include Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Rao, Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra. Ranveer Singh, who got just 7.38% of the votes, will be a strong contender in the years to come wethinks, if and when he gets over Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha! So, which film song of 2011 had the most bizarre lyrics? Bhaag DK Bose? You’re wrong. It’s Criminal from RA.One that has our readers intrigued. Initially when we were monitoring the results a few days after the nominations were out, it seemed as if Bhaag DK Bose from Delhi Belly would be a definite winner. But as more people exercised their vote, Criminal took over quite surprisingly – with 50.07% of the total votes. Bhaag DK Bose stood at 36.66% votes when polling closed. It was uncanny to see songs from the films of Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan – also their home productions – compete for something as bizarre an award as Bizarre Lyrics! Deepika Padukone’s item song Mit jaaye gham from Dum Maaro Dum got 8.84% votes, while the Kutta song from Pyaar Ka Punchnama got 4.42% votes. Total votes were 701. Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s li’l kiss in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara steamed it up for most viewers, as it has won the BollywoodLife Award for Best onscreen ‘pappi’ with 39.48% votes. Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandes’ smooch in Murder 2 was also liked a lot, with 27.96% votes. The Ranbir Kapoor-Nargis Fakhri act in Rockstar was winning earlier, but later resigned to the No.3 position with 23.35% votes. We guess people realised that it was a rather reluctant ‘half kiss’ than an actual one. Our voters weren’t too amused with the Imran Khan-Poorna Jagannathan ‘car kiss’ in Delhi Belly, as it barely got 7.53% votes. And there were not many takers for the same sex lip-locking of Kalki Koechlin and Kirti Kulhari in Shaitan, for it was just a fun kiss. It got just 1.69% votes. The total votes were 651. Don ko haraana mushkil hee nahin, namumkin hai! Shahrukh Khan swept the BollywoodLife award for the Sexiest Villain in B-town. The award, announced before the release of Don 2, had considerable votes for Arjun Rampal in RA.One and Priyanka Chopra in 7 Khoon Maaf. But after Farhan Akhtar’s film hit theatres, people loved Shahrukh as the mean guy again and his votes shot up – changing the dynamics of the award category. Shahrukh Khan got a whopping margin of 69.71% votes. The next three nominees were more or less on the same level. Prakash Raj in Singham got 9.62%, Priyanka Chopra in 7 Khoon Maaf got 9.43%, while Arjun Rampal in RA.One got 9.14% votes. Prashant Narayanan in Murder 2 who we thought was pretty strong in terms of performance in the film came in last with only 2.1% of the total votes of 1,050. Aw! The common fans of John Abraham and Bipasha Basu cannot bear to see them apart. The two actors dated for nearly nine years, almost a decade. Marriage seemed like the logical next step when the sad news of their breakup came in. But now with John dating young banker Priya Runchal and Bipasha having fun with Rana Daggubati, it seems they will never get back together. And so, the John-Bipasha breakup garnered the most votes for the Most Tragic Real-Life Love Story award on BollywoodLife, with 62.4% votes. The romance and then breakup of Band Baaja Baaraat hot pair of Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma came in second with 19.68% votes. Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra weren’t much liked as a couple by their fans, wethinks, ‘coz only 17.92% of the total voters thought their breakup was anywhere close to tragic.
