Juhi Chawla embarked on her filmi career after winning the Miss India beauty contest in 1984, in Sultanat. She went on to become one of the top leading heroines of her time and starred in films ranging from the romantic comedies like Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (which won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award) to women-oriented films like Daraar.
