After declaring Chakravyuh song Tata, Birla a ‘personal attack’, the Central Board of Film Certification has now put pressure on filmmaker Prakash Jha to delete some portions where there is an apparent direct taunt at Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. We wonder why filmmaker Prakash Jha’s films always run in to some trouble or the other before their release. His latest film Chakravyuh, starring Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol and Esha Gupta, has courted controversy, too. This time, it’s not for any issue but for a song that names the country’s top industrialists, and also an international one.
Featuring Abhay and sung by Kailash Kher, the song goes thus: Tata, Birla, Ambani aur Bata, sab ne hai desh ko kaata. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) refused to pass the song not once but twice, as it felt the lyrics seemed like a personal attack. Click here to read more

43rd International Film festival of India (IFFI): Indian Panorama section to screen 47 films

As many as 47 films will be screened in the Indian Panorama section at the 43rd International Film festival of India (IFFI), which will be held in Goa in November 20-30, 2012. A spokesperson for the IFFI said that the Indian Panorama section, one of the major screening schedules for the film festival, which attracted over 8,000 delegates last year, would contain 26 feature films and 21 non feature films. “We are inviting entries for the Indian Panorama section 2012 for films certified by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012,” the spokesperson said.
