Producer Sudhir Sharma claims that Channel V’s new show will focus on the student-teacher relationship, just like the Shahrukh Khan-starrer did, but we think differently
Channel V’s forthcoming youth-oriented show The Buddy Project focuses on the student-teacher relationship, and producer Sudhir Sharma of Sunshine Productions said, “This is today’s story and we have added a layer of teacher-student relationship in it. We want to capture the spirit that you saw in Chak De! India. It’s about how a teacher is going to teach these kids and how these kids will change the teacher’s life. We are capturing this interesting relationship for the first time.” Click here to read more
It’s Khan vs Khan in Bollywood, as Irrfan sets his sights on Shahrukh Khan’s Dhyan Chand
We love Irrfan. He’s a Khan, even though he’s dropped his surname. Perhaps that explains why he doesn’t get racially profiled when he goes to the US to shoot the likes of The Amazing Spider-Man, unlike his Khan namesake Shahrukh. But now, like it happens periodically with him, our Irrfan is getting a bit too ambitious, a bit too big for his Paan Singh Tomar sized boots, shall we say. Irrfan has now set his sights on Indian hockey great Dhyan Chand. “It has been one of my dreams to do a role on Dhyan Chand. It seems I have grown too old to play this role. But if I get a chance to do I will definitely play the role of Dhyan Chand in a film. Dhyan Chand’s story is amazing and he had made the country very proud. He made a very big name for himself in the field of hockey and today see the condition of hockey. I think we should definitely make a film on Dhyan Chand,” said Irrfan. Arrey tera ‘Dhyan’ kidhar hai, Irrfan bhai? Don’t you know that after his masterly performance in Chak De! India, Shahrukh is in talks to play Dhyan Chand? Click here to read more
After the release of King Khan’s Chak De! India, he was named the poster boy of hockey. News is that he will be playing a legendary hockey player in his next, a biopic
It seems that the success of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Irrfan-starrer Paan Singh Tomar is inspiring filmmakers in B-town to make biopics on sporting legends. We recently saw Farhan Akhtar’s first look as the sprinter Milkha Singh in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and were most impressed. The latest in the series of potential biopics is one on legendary hockey player Dhyan Chand, to be reprised by Shahrukh Khan. Click here to read more
King Khan has turned down an offer to play a cop because he didn’t want to be seen as trying to ape his contemporaries
Shahrukh Khan is Bollywood’s resident lover boy and he is back to what he does best, with Yash Chopra’s forthcoming film. It came as a surprise when we heard that he is considering playing a cop in a Gautham Menon film, a remake of Vettiyadu Villayadu. Click here to read more
We bring to you our version of how this special colour in the rainbow is depicted on the big screen
Think Bollywood and you’ll think of several colours, but we bet indigo won’t be one of them. Indigo is the colour of contemplation, of deep reflection, even depression and that’s not something our movies do regularly. Maybe that’s why it has not been used as often as other popular colours, like say red or yellow, but it’s not been ignored either. It pops up when you least expect it and paints your expectations in a different hue. We present to you the various shades of indigo: Click here to read more
Some pictures we found on Facebook reveal Shahrukh Khan holding the tricolour incorrectly
Call it coincidence, but on the eve of Republic Day, we found some images of Shahrukh Khan on Facebook that clearly shows him holding the Indian tricolour upside down. Does that mean Shahrukh has shown disrespect, or is this his way of revering the Indian flag? Apparently, this outing of Shahrukh was after India won the cricket World Cup 2011. And in the excitement, he forgot that he was holding the flag with the wrong colour appearing on top. The correct order is saffron, white and green. Has SRK deliberately done this, or is it just an honest mistake, as he gets carried away in his attempt to honour the Indian flag after the cricket team’s victory? What do you think? The maverick filmmaker recently made this announcement but surprisingly the sequel will not be directed by Shimit Amin
Though Ram Gopal Varma was the guy who trusted director Shimit Amin and gave him a break with his home production, Ab Tak Chhappan, it seems that the two have drifted apart since then. Shimit moved on to greener pastures, and his last two films, Rocket Singh Salesman Of The Year and Chak De! India have been produced by Yash Raj Films. Click here to read more
The Chak De! India girl was spotted at a recent event, wearing a little black dress and, we must say, she was looking gorgeous. It’s sad that we don’t see her in the movies more often…
