Amitabh Bachchan: Fresh medical issues have come up
The ailing superstar says he will not be communicating with his fans for sometime, as he needs to concentrate on treatment
Amitabh Bachchan, who is recuperating from two recent abdominal surgeries, says some new medical issues have emerged, and it is likely that his stay at the Seven Hills Hospital here may be further extended. “I seek forgiveness…I will not be detailing any more…some fresh medical issues have come up, and I need to concentrate on the treatment now,” the 69-year-old ailing actor posted on his blog Wednesday night. The megastar was successfully operated upon Saturday, and was due to be discharged from the hospital Monday. But following complaints of acute pain, doctors decided to keep him under observation till Friday or Saturday at least. Click here to read more2 Comments
Abhishek Bachchan: Dad’s surgery went off smoothly
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s scheduled abdominal surgery went off smoothly and he is now resting in the hospital room, says his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan. “The abdominal pain was due to the pain that had started during the injury that dad had got during Coolie (in 1982). He is operated now and the surgery went on for two to three hours. It has gone smoothly,” said Abhishek. “He has been shifted to the ward now. The operation was successful, and he has been kept under observation by the doctors,” added the junior Bachchan. The 69-year-old veteran was happy and cheerful before being wheeled into the operation theatre in the morning, doctors attending on him said. He was wheeled in around 9 in the morning for the surgery, and his family was with him.

Six years after he was last hospitalised, the ageing superstar will once again be operated upon
Amitabh Bachchan will face the surgeon’s knife again this Saturday. The superstar stated on his blog that he has been undergoing treatment for abdominal pain for the past few days.
