Yogen Shah

Perhaps, for the first time in the history of Hindi cinema an actor will get a larger share of the profit than the primary producers

Everyone was quite shocked when writer-director Reema Kagti managed to rope in Aamir Khan for her thriller Talaash (earlier called Dhuan). Insiders say Aamir is one actor who doesn’t get easily impressed. So one wondered how she managed the casting coup! According to the official version, the young filmmaker had done it solely on the strength of her powerful script. We think Reema’s close camaraderie with Kiran Rao (Aamir’s wife) and the ace actor’s harmonious relationship with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani (he was in their first production, Dil Chahta Hai, remember?) were deciding factors for Aamir to say ‘yes’. Now, we have found out something else too. Click here to read more

Yogen Shah

It’s the time of instant gratification. From filmmakers to actors and producers now follow the concept of hit and run, where the fate of a film is decided in the opening weekend and the verdict is sealed

While the clichéd tactics still work, doing something different adds the extra oomph to the publicity game. Shahrukh Khan and Vidya Balan have just joined the bandwagon. Among all the film stars, Rajinikanth is probably the only actor whose films require no promotions or publicity. Here’s a list of some of the recent bizarre publicity stunts B-town stars have pulled off… Click here to read more

Aamir Khan won’t wear the police uniform!

The actor will settle for the formal civilian outfits instead

Everyone’s been talking about how our B-town stars look hot in the uniform. But if you think you’ll be able to see Aamir Khan don the khakee wardi in his forthcoming film Dhuan, you’ll be quite disappointed to hear this: Aamir won’t be sporting the police uniform in Reema Kagti’s film. We hear the actor did shoot for some scenes in a uniform and those photographs got leaked online. But the perfectionist actor felt that he won’t be able to do justice to the seriousness of the character, if he wore the wardi.
