Javed Jaffrey: Overt sexuality makes me uncomfortable

Javed Jaffrey: Overt sexuality makes me uncomfortable

Excited about his forthcoming release The Forest, Javed Jaffrey is confident that the film will thrill the audiences and make people think about pressing environmental issues. In a candid chat the powerhouse of talent talks about the film, his other creative pursuits and why he thinks the big stars of Bollywood should dare to be different

He’s a rare talent, an eclectic mix of spontaneity, creativity and inventiveness. It would be unfair to define Javed Jaffrey as an actor and even more difficult it is to coldly categorise him as just a performer. Click here to read more

Nathalia Kaur, Mallika Sherawat, Rakhi Sawant, Malaika Arora Khan…who is the most vulgar item girl?

Nathalia Kaur, Mallika Sherawat, Rakhi Sawant, Malika Arora Khan….who is the most vulgar item girl?

Bordering on erotica, item numbers are quickly blurring the line that divides hot and sexy from sleazy and titillating. Some of our B-town babes, equipped heavily with their raunchy dance moves and equally shady settings, are subjecting the audience to visual pollution in the name of item songs. Who then is the most vulgar item girl on the scene?

Thrusting her golden panties into the camera lens as she does her pumping pelvic moves, Nathalia Kaur, the new bimbo to join the ever-growing community of item girls, looks absolutely crude. Dressed in scanty clothes (read chaddi) this chick shows off more than what’s required in a bid to set your imagination on fire and ends up looking repulsive in the bargain. Though the Department song in question, in which Natalie appears as ‘Cheeni’ has beats to die for, the racy visuals and cheap dance moves make the song look obscene. Click here to read more

Happy Birthday, Kangna Ranaut!

Yogen Shah

This year is turning out to be a lucrative one for the Krrish 3 babe and as she turns 25 today, we shed light on Kangna Ranaut’s current projects and what she has been upto till now

She started her B-town career with Gangster opposite Shiney Ahuja in 2006. But with movies like Woh Lamhe and Fashion, Ms Ranaut was almost on the verge of getting stuck in the ‘crazy girl’ mould. Just when people had started considering her an actor mainly apt for intense and serious roles, Kangy made it a point to turn her career around. She tried her hand at comedy with Double Dhamaal and Rascals, but unfortunately the babe was unable to prove her mettle in this domain. Click here to read more

Is Mallika Sherawat still B-town’s item queen?

Looking at the fate of Mallika Sherawat’s recent items songs like Razia and Shalu ke thumke, it doesn’t seem as if her dance numbers are still selling like hotcakes. Yet the sexy siren signs on to do one more for Priyadarshan’s Tezz

The item song is Bollywood’s favourite tool to lure audiences in to cinema halls, but now it’s becoming boring and redundant, almost as bad as scripted reality shows on TV. Even then filmmakers don’t give up hope and continue churning out song after song. So we have Malaika Arora Khan doing ‘Anarkali disco chali’ in Sajid Khan’s Housefull 2 and her contemporary and favourite item gal Mallika Sherawat gyrating to ‘Laila Laila’ in Priyadarshan’s action thriller Tezz - the number that so many stars, from Priyanka Chopra to Sameera Reddy, were rumoured to be doing. Genelia D’Souza: I am not apprehensive about being paired with Riteish

Yogen Shah

The soon-to-be Mrs Riteish Deshmukh isn’t perturbed that very few real life couples have made successful reel life lovers

Kangna Ranaut replaces Vidya Balan in ‘Shootout At Wadala’

Yogen Shah

The Rascals actor is slowly getting her career back on track after a couple of duds

You have to hand it to Kangna Ranaut. The gal didn’t have a very good 2011 – Tanu Weds Manu and Double Dhamaal were hits, but she had three big flops in Game, Rascals and Miley Naa Miley Hum. Her only other release is the action film Tezz, which is more about Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor’s characters than hers. While that would have made it tough for any other actor to reenter the race, Kangs was not deterred. Click here to read more
