Nathalia Kaur, Mallika Sherawat, Rakhi Sawant, Malaika Arora Khan…who is the most vulgar item girl?

Nathalia Kaur, Mallika Sherawat, Rakhi Sawant, Malika Arora Khan….who is the most vulgar item girl?

Bordering on erotica, item numbers are quickly blurring the line that divides hot and sexy from sleazy and titillating. Some of our B-town babes, equipped heavily with their raunchy dance moves and equally shady settings, are subjecting the audience to visual pollution in the name of item songs. Who then is the most vulgar item girl on the scene?

Thrusting her golden panties into the camera lens as she does her pumping pelvic moves, Nathalia Kaur, the new bimbo to join the ever-growing community of item girls, looks absolutely crude. Dressed in scanty clothes (read chaddi) this chick shows off more than what’s required in a bid to set your imagination on fire and ends up looking repulsive in the bargain. Though the Department song in question, in which Natalie appears as ‘Cheeni’ has beats to die for, the racy visuals and cheap dance moves make the song look obscene. Click here to read more

Mallika Sherawat’s item song ‘Laila’ fails to sizzle

After making the nation groove on her Jalebi bai tune a year back, Mallika Sherawat has returned with her latest item song Laila for the film Tezz. But this time around the Hisss babe doesn’t quite get it right

The trend started with Malaika Arora Khan’s Chaiyya chaiyya in Dil Se (1998) and Shilpa Shetty’s Main aayi UP Bihar lootne in Shool (1999), fired up by Yana Gupta’s Babuji zara dheere chalo from Dum (2003). But it took a while for the trend of item numbers to really catch on with big stars. The success of Malaika’s Munni badnaam hui and Katrina Kaif’s Sheila ki jawani made it almost mandatory to have an item song in every film, and with a top heroine. In 2011, Mallika Sherawat’s Jalebi bai from Double Dhamaal grabbed the audience’s attention and Kat as Chikni Chameli in Agneepath set the screen on fire early 2012. But we know that every trend hits a plateau and then the decline starts before a fresh fad, a better trend comes along. Mallika’s Laila in Tezz in all probability is likely to mark the end of the trend that has had the nation grooving. Click here to read more
