Kamal Haasan: I stopped working for money 25 yrs back

Kamal Haasan decided to helm Hindi-Tamil bilingual Viswaroopam, which will have a backdrop of US, Britain and Jordan, because he doesn’t believe in wasting time and says he also wants to ‘nurture Kamal Haasan, the actor’

“If the director doesn’t respect my time, I will have to. If my dates are being wasted, the project becomes mine,” he said in an interview. Selva Raghavan was supposed to wield the megaphone for the film before Kamal Haasan took reins.  The 57-year-old, who has spent 50 years in front of the camera, said, “People advised, scolded and counselled me about my career. Happy birthday, Atul Kulkarni!

Here’s wishing the two-time National Award-winner – many happy returns of the day

Atul Kulkarni was born in Belgaum on September 10, 1965 and brought up in Solapur. He worked in plays in school, and later joined the Natya Aradhana, an amateur theatre group that groomed him. After he decided to take up acting as a profession, he trained at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. As his official website says, since 1995, Atul has acted in eight plays in four languages, 26 films in six languages and has won several awards, including two National Film Awards. His notable roles in Hindi films include Chandni Bar, Rang De Basanti, Page 3, Delhi-6, Satta, Khakee, Allah Ke Banday and Dum among others. Click here to read more
