Superstar Rajinikanth’s film with Katrina Kaif will incorporate animation similar to Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin
Going a step further from his special effects sci-fi film Endhiran (Robot), Rajinikanth’s new film will use motion capture technology. The same visual effects tool had been used in Steven Speilberg’s 2011 blockbuster, The Adventures of Tintin. Rajini’s film Kochadaiyaan, produced by his younger daughter Soundarya and starring Katrina Kaif, will incorporate motion capture so that the Superstar does not have to shoot on the field too much. Bollywood may hog the limelight but the quiet and industrious south Indian entertainment industry is the real growth driver for the Indian film industry and also the creative bellwether, given the sheer number of south Indian films remade in Hindi. That’s quite an achievement for a region accounting for just four of India’s 28 states – Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala – and a union territory, Pondicherry. These grand statements are not just narrow regionalism; they are borne out by a joint report on the south Indian industry compiled by the Federation of the Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and research firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India. Superstar Rajinikanth’s much talked about film Rana has been postponed to make way for Kochadaiyaan
Superstar Rajinikanth is healthy, fit and fine. The reason to keep his magnum opus Rana on hold has nothing to do with his health anymore. While people keep speculating the real reason, Rajinikanth has already begun work on his next. The actor’s next film will be made in hi-tech 3D, titled Kochadaiyaan which literally means a king with matted hair. The technology to be used in the movie will be similar to James Cameroon’s Avatar and Steven Speilberg’s Adventures of Tintin - called performance capturing technology. The superstar is recovering well, but the shooting schedule will be decided only by the end of the year
Rajinikanth’s fans, who were waiting for him to return to India after his treatment in Singapore so that he can shoot Rana, will have to wait for some more time. The shoot of the film has been delayed, and as of now, we can’t really say when it will start. Rajini has fully recovered, but those concerned with the making of the film, including director KS Ravikumar, have decided to delay the start of the shoot as they want him to rest for some more days. The superstar is all set to start work on the film in September
The King is back. Rajinikanth is set to resume shooting for his magnum opus Rana from September 2011. After a high-profile mahurat, the movie was in cold storage as Rajini had to undergo treatment in Singapore. For the next two months, Rajinikanth’s health made more news than the movie and the superstar used to communicate to his fans via his daughters Soundarya and Aishwarya, and son-in-law Dhanush.
