Karnataka State Film Awards for Vishnuvardhan, Anu Prabhakar
The Karnataka State awards for the year 2009-10 have been announced
Late actor Vishnuvardhan (posthumous) and Anu Prabhakar have bagged the best actor and best actress award for their performances in
Aptharakshaka and
Pareekshe respectively.
Rasarishi Kuvempu directed by debutant Ritwick Simha bagged the best first film award.
Manasaare directed by Yogaraj Bhatt and
Love Guru directed by debutant Prashanth Raj were adjudged the second best and the third best film respectively. The Dr Rajkumar Award for Lifetime Achievement, SR Puttanna Kanagal Award for Lifetime Achievement in Direction and Dr Vishnuvardhan Award for Lifetime Achievement in Production has been conferred to veterans RN Sudarshan, CV Shivashankar and SD Ankalagi respectively. Girish Kasaravalli’s
Kanasembo Kudureyaneri, which has bagged some national and international awards including the best actor for Vyjanath Biradaar at the Madrid International Film Festival, has been rejected outright by the Dwarakish committee.
