‘Satyamev Jayate’ special screening held in Maharashtra, Gujarat & Uttar Pradesh
The first episode of Aamir Khan’s debut TV show Satyamev Jayate was screened on Sunday, May 6, in some villages in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh where the villagers do not have access to television. “This is an important and relevant show for all of India and Star India is going all out to make sure that this show reaches out to all Indians even in places with limited or no TV connectivity,” said Gayatri Yadav, EVP- Marketing and Communications, STAR India, in a statement. “The show is about the people of India and it’s imperative it reaches every Indian,” she added.
Satyamev Jayate went on air Sunday on Star Plus as well as Doordarshan [you read it here first]. In fact, this is the first ever show to be beamed on a private channel as well as DD simultaneously. The special screening was organised by Star Plus on community TV sets in villages like Bhingara and Kahupatta in Maharashtra; Chepa in Gujarat; Jhunkar in Madhya Pradesh; Tikeri, Lalpur, Sarauta and Maaniram in Uttar Pradesh. Most of these villages have a population of less than 5,000. The initiative was taken to ensure that the show reaches all over the country as the show caters to the issues of common man. Amitabh Bachchan: Full recovery to take months
The actor who was operated upon recently says he will be discharged soon, but will convalesce at home
Amitabh Bachchan says that despite his improving condition he might have to stay at the Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai for a few more days. However, his full recovery could even take months, says the megastar. “Looks like a few more days then before they set me free… but recovery at home will be another few months,” Big B, who was expected to be discharged from the hospital by Wednesday, posted on his Twitter page. With the tagline Koi bhi insaan chhota nahin hota and the unbeatable charisma of actor Amitabh Bachchan, KBC 5 on Sony, has got a blockbuster opening of 5.24 TVRs (television rating points) in the top three metros of Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata. Here’s a sneek peek into what all is to happen on the sets of KBC 5, on the holy eve of Dussehra.
The special episode will start with a colorful depiction of victory of truth over evil through Ramleela. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a dashing, red attire. On the hot seat we will have Mr Sukhandhan Kolhapure as the first contestant of the day. Sukhandhan, who is a security guard by profession and hails from Kolhapur, wants to support orphaned kids with the prize money he wins. FICCI Frames 2012: Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Rockstar’ rules Excellence Awards
Rockstar and Sony Entertainment Television were the big winners at FICCI Frames Excellence Awards 2012. The function was held at the end of the three day FICCI festival on March 16. Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor (Male) award, Imtiaz Ali won Best Director, AR Rahman got the Best Music Director trophy and Mohit Chauhan bagged the Best Singer (Male) award – all for the same film, Rockstar. Vidya Balan walked away with the Best Actor (Female) honours for her work in The Dirty Picture. Best Film went to Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
Sony Entertainment Television won top honours in fiction and non-fiction programming. Ram Kapoor and Saakshi Tanwar bagged the Best Actor trophies for Bade Achche Lagte Hain while Amitabh Bachchan was honored with the Award for Maximum Impact made by a Personality for Kaun Banega Crorepati. Amitabh Bachchan signs Shirish Kunder’s film ‘Common Man’
After striking a chord with the ‘aam aadmi’ or common man of India with Kaun Banega Crorepati 5, Amitabh Bachchan has now signed Shirish Kunder’s Common Man and says nobody is ordinary. The 69-year-old megastar, who has been enjoying the company of his newborn grandchild (Aishwarya and Abhishek’s daughter), had been pondering over a pile of scripts for a long time. But he has now zeroed in on this film. “So finally a decision! Doing Shirish Kunder’s film ‘Common Man’. Starting in a couple of months .. koi bhi insaan aam nahi hota (Nobody is ordinary),” Big B posted on Twitter. Kunder is excited about his long-pending dream coming true. “My dream to work with @SrBachchan finally comes true. Have waited for 6 years for the right script. And ‘COMMON MAN’ is that film,” film editor-turned-director posted on Twitter. “‘COMMON MAN’ is an inspiring story that every person can relate to & inspire them to realise their uniqueness & achieve success through it. And who better than @SrBachchan to convey this noble story and inspire every COMMON MAN,” he added. Kunder’s other forthcoming projects are Joker and Kick.
