Vidya Balan is a versatile actor: Sujoy Ghosh

The Kahaani director also says his last film Aladin flopped because he didn’t engage the viewers

It’s not easy to take the responsibility of failures, but Sujoy Ghosh does it and says his Aladin bombed because he failed to narrate an engaging story. Now he has moved on with Kahaani and feels there is no point in fretting over past mistakes. “If a film doesn’t work, the reason is simple – as a director I have failed to tell you a story. You have given me the trust to come and see the film and the moment I fail to keep you on the seat I fail to tell you a story,” said Ghosh, whose Aladin bombed despite a huge star cast. “Aladin flopped because I failed to tell a story,” added the director who seems to have learnt tricks of the trade after tasting failure. “You have to move on. This is one industry where you can learn anything out of failure. It is a waste of time if I sit and post-mortem the reason behind the failures.” Click here to read more

KAHAANI new song: Aami shotti bolchi

Watch the catchy new song about Kolkata from Vidya Balan’s next film

Composed by Vishal-Shekhar and sung by Usha Uthup and Vishwesh K, the song, Aami shotti bolchi, is a dedication to filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh’s home town, Kolkata. The song written by Vishal Dadlani beautifully describes Kolkata and the video is equally befitting. Launching the song on Twitter, Sujoy said, “first song of KAHAANI – Aami Shotti Bolchi – by Usha di.. the mother of all rockstars. hope u like.” He added that, “this song is for the first heroine of KAHAANI.. KOLKATA.” It is quite funny to watch the ‘V’ in Vidya Balan’s name being pronounced as ‘B’ by a Bengali cop, who even justifies it. You might notice in the trailer that like in real life, Vidya is playing a Tamil girl in the film. Wethinks the song will help get the film some attention. Let us know if you liked it and are humming it already. Click here to read more
