Neil Nitin Mukesh wants to fly

Yogen Shah

No doubt the actor has always been very nice and polite and at one point we thought he would sprout wings for his angelic behaviour, but we aren’t talking about that here; the actor wants to take flying lessons

After Shahid Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor, it’s Neil who has been bitten by the flying bug. It seems the actor got hooked on to this escapade when he had to shoot a crucial helicopter scene for his new film, Players. Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar at the special screening of ‘Don 2′

DON 2 Quick Movie Review: Shahrukh Khan is truly wicked

Our critic is viewing Don 2 right now, and we heard from him saying that Shahrukh Khan rocks in Farhan Akhtar’s film. The film matches the first part as far as the slickness quotient is concerned, and in fact, takes it to another level. Priyanka Chopra plays the sexy but tough cop act well. The interactions between her character and Don are worth watching. Once again, Don entertains with his one-liners, his wicked charm and his ruthlessness. For viewers exposed to international films, it might be a mish-mash, but it’s still worth it. Not many films like these are made in India. The only film which looks close to Don 2 right now is Abbas Mustan’s Players in terms of the action and cinematography. So go watch Don 2. It’s a thriller not to be missed! Don 2 stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kunal Kapoor, Boman Irani and Lara Dutta among others. It releases Friday, December 23.

Actor-director Farhan Akhtar does not rule out a third part to the Don series. But for now, he says he wants to “explore other genres”. “I never refused to make Don 3. What does UTV have in store for 2012?

UTV has a rather limited slate lined up for 2012, comprising only six films. But clearly, the company believes in quality over quantity. But are the films really going to work? Let’s take a look

First up is Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, due a February 10 release, a co-production with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The synopsis goes thus: EMAET is a lighthearted, tragicomedy about a guy in his mid twenties, going through a breakdown in his personal as well as work life. Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan), 26, loses his job as an architect in Vegas and by a twist of fate he meets Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor), a quick-witted hairstylist, who is everything he isn’t. Will this friendship turn to love? The film has a great title that has an instant nostalgia name recall value besides a killer cast and music by the brilliant Amit Trivedi. Since it’s also releasing in the Valentine’s Day frame, it’s likely to be a winner. Click here to read more

Shahrukh Khan: It’s one of the greatest highs to play a villain

Shahrukh Khan, who played anti-hero in the beginning of his career, returns in a negative role in his forthcoming film Don 2: The King is Back. The superstar says that portraying villainous characters gives a different high to an actor

“I really enjoyed it. I will be really honest and I am not glorifying badness in real life and these are just films and stories, but as an actor it is one of the greatest highs to play a villain’s role,” said Shahrukh at the launch of the Don 2 videogame, which is releasing on Friday. Farhan Akhtar: ‘Don 2′ is more action-packed

Filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar is of the opinion that the ‘opening weekend collection’ mindset is an unfair attitude since a film needs time to grow on the audiences. He also stresses that marketing is not just about money but also about out-of-the-box ideas

“It is very unfortunate that the era of films celebrating golden jubilee or silver jubilee is gone, considering the content that is being offered to the audience. We don’t have enough screens that can help a film sustain for a longer period of time,” Farhan, 38, said. Click here to read more
