Despite having plans to catch up with family after wrapping up her shoot in London, Katrina cancelled everything and flew all the way back to Mumbai just to be by Arjun’s side when his mother passed away recently
Life’s not been quite hunk-dory for Arjun Kapoor lately. The young man will very soon be seen in his debut film Ishaqzaade opposite Parineeti Chopra and has had to deal with the sudden loss of his mother Mona Kapoor to cancer recently, just when he was about to start his journey in the industry. The past few weeks have been terrible for those in Bollywood and one reason for this has been the untimely demises of those close to the B-towners. Anshula and Arjun Kapoor lost their mother Mona Kapoor, to cancer. Music director Khayyam lost his son Pradeep because of a massive heart attack. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha lost his mother. Producer Viveck Vaswani got emotional and posted a message on Twitter, RIP. Sushila Sinha, anubhav and anupam sinhas mother. Very hard moment!” Condoling the death of Sinha’s mother, actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, “My condolence to anubhav sinha and his family!may his mother rest in peace!” Anupam Kher who lost his manager was all praise for him on the micro-blogging site. He said, “Mr. Bhaskar Shetty was a kind and humble man. His favourite line to me was, “leave it to me. I will manage.” And he ALWAYS did. Producer and mother of Ishaqzaade actor Arjun Kapoor lost her battle against cancer and her fellow B-towners are sad that she didn’t live to see her son’s debut film
It’s almost as if history is repeating itself in two different families. It happened to Sanjay Dutt and now it’s happening to Arjun Kapoor. Sanjay’s mother Nargis Dutt succumbed to cancer in 1981, a few days before Sanjay’s debut film Rocky was to hit the theatres. Mona Kapoor, mother of Ishaqzaade actor Arjun Kapoor, passed away earlier today (March 25). She had been suffering from cancer for several months now. She had been undergoing treatment at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai and even last week, her close ones had been hopeful that she would recover. Bollywood celebs took to Twitter to express their condolences. Karan Johar tweeted, “Mona kapoor was one of the most gracious,dignified and loving human beings i knew…she felt only positivity for one and all…RIP ma’m…” Ken Ghosh recalled a fond memory of his, “Will miss Mona Kapoor smile when I shoot at Future Studio next, always had eclairs on her table for guests. R.I.P Mona Kapoor”. Akshay Kumar posted, ”Extremely saddened to hear about the demise of Mona Kapoor, a very affectionate, supportive and positive human being. May God bless her soul and give strength to her family. RIP.”
