‘Dabangg’ bags National Award for the best popular film of the year

Salman Khan’s Dabangg has swept most popular award categories this year. And to add a feather to his cap, producer of the film Arbaaz Khan bagged a national award too. Dabangg has won the best popular film award at this year’s National Awards. We hear the producer is ecstatic and has called his Dabangg journey a fantastic experience. Though Sallu is not present to witness the victory, Arbaaz collected the award in person.

Happy birthday, Atul Kulkarni!

Here’s wishing the two-time National Award-winner – many happy returns of the day

Atul Kulkarni was born in Belgaum on September 10, 1965 and brought up in Solapur. He worked in plays in school, and later joined the Natya Aradhana, an amateur theatre group that groomed him. After he decided to take up acting as a profession, he trained at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. As his official website says, since 1995, Atul has acted in eight plays in four languages, 26 films in six languages and has won several awards, including two National Film Awards. His notable roles in Hindi films include Chandni Bar, Rang De Basanti, Page 3, Delhi-6, Satta, Khakee, Allah Ke Banday and Dum among others. Click here to read more

Ram Charan’s ‘Magadheera’ completes 700 days

It has broken the record of Mahesh Babu’s Pokkiri

Kalabhairava, it seems, is riding his steed into the record books. Tollywood’s biggest ever blockbuster Magadheera, which was released on July 31, 2009, has so far collected Rs 70 crore. The latest is that the film has completed 700 days’ run at some theatres in Andhra Pradesh, breaking the record of Mahesh Babu’s Pokkiri, which ran for 500 days. Click here to read more
