Nikitha Thukral in ‘The Dirty Picture’ remake

The south actor has bagged the role of a lifetime. Nikitha Thukral will be playing the lead in the Kannada version of The Dirty Picture

According to the latest goss, controversial south actor Nikitha Thukral has been finalised to play the character of Silk in the Kannada version of The Dirty Picture. Mahesh Babu and Samantha’s DOOKUDU all set to release

Telugu movie Dookudu releases on September 23

Mahesh Babu and Samantha new film, Dookudu, will finally release on September 23. The film was delayed by a few weeks due to censor trouble. The censors were apparently not happy with the print of the film, which according to them was ‘not clear’.  The film’s makers, including director Sreenu Vytla, are confident that it will go on to be a superhit. Prince Mahesh Babu’s fan following will ensure a good opening for the film, which is produced by Anil Sunkara, Achanta Gopinath and Achanta Ram under the banner of 14reels Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Darshan fans say wife-beating is normal?

Darshan’s fans are ‘shocked’ – because he is a star, yes, but also because of the nature of his offense. Wife-beating is hardly a serious crime, our source heard them say. Condemning the ‘Challenging Star’, actor Raghavendra Rajkumar said, “Any person raising a hand on a woman is unacceptable. I would pray for the Darshan couple’s quick recovery and that they settle down in life fast.” This incident has been a reality check for the society at large to see how biased and sexist we have become. It was a major relief when the Kannada Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) revoked the ban on actor Nikitha, who was allegedly responsible for the unfortunate incident. Now we are waiting to see if KFPA will slap a ban on Darshan or not.

Darshan’s bail plea rejected

Though his wife Vijayalakshmi has changed her statement, local court doesn’t budge

A local court on Tuesday rejected bail plea of Kannada actor Darshan, who has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi and child. City Civil and Session Court judge B R Budihal rejected his bail even as the actor’s wife Vijayalakshmi told the court that she is ready for reconciliation. Earlier on September 13, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court denied him bail. However, Judge Venkatesh Hulagi had said the actor can seek bail in sessions court. Kannada producers feel foolish about banning Nikitha

The ban imposed on Kannada actor Nikita Thukral by the Kannada producers for being responsible for marital discord between actor Darshan and his wife was lifted. The question now being raised is why actor Darshan himself has not been banned. The withdrawal came three days after Nikita was banned for an alleged affair with Kannada star Darshan, who is now in jail for assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi. The producers who effectively held her responsible for marital discord in the Darshan household now concede it was unnecessary. Kannada Producers’ Association Muniratna Naidu said, “We admit now that the ban was foolish. We’ve wronged an actress who was good and kind hearted.” Nikita, who has been keeping a low profile till now, reacted with a sigh of relief.

Raj Kumar family helps lift ban on Nikitha Thukral

Legendary actor Raj Kumar’s family has come to her rescue

Film producers in Karnataka have overturned the three-year ban imposed on actor Nikita Thukral, reportedly after direct intervention from the first family of Sandalwood, led by Mrs Parvathamma Rajkumar, the wife of late cine legend Raj Kumar. The Kannada Film Producers’ Association released a statement to this effect and confirmed that there was no plan to ban actor Darshan, who is currently in prison on charges of assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi. In an FIR, the wife had mentioned a possible affair between Darshan and Nikita for her predicament. Click here to read more
