The filmmaker has been asked to make six cuts in his film for various objectionable portions
After declaring Chakravyuh song Tata, Birla a ‘personal attack’, the Central Board of Film Certification has now put pressure on filmmaker Prakash Jha to delete some portions where there is an apparent direct taunt at Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The line in question – Bahut dekhi teri sardari – is seen by the censor board as a ‘pointed reference’ to the PM, as he is a Sardar belonging to the Sikh community. The Goan Catholic Welfare Union threatens to halt the screenings of the Priyadarshan film if some ‘objectionable’ scenes are not deleted
After protests in Mumbai, the Christian community in Goa is up in arms against Priyadarshan‘s latest film Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal. The Goan Catholic Welfare Union (GCWU) has threatened to disallow the screening of the film in the state if “objectionable” scenes in it are not deleted. It seems Bollywood actors are having a tough time shooting in Uttar Pradesh. Recently there were reports of Dhanush falling ill with flu on sets of his film Raanjhnaa in Varanasi. Shooting in the same location, Om Puri was knocked out of action. While shooting for his political satire titled Rambhajan Zindabad, the actor was struck with typhoid and was under the weather for a few days. A source from the sets said that Om started shivering after waking up from his afternoon siesta, and displayed symptoms of a fever. The film unit informed the doctors immediately and took the veteran actor to a nearby hospital.
Yesterday, on Sunday, Om was discharged after the doctors declared his condition was stable and the actor immediately reported on the sets to resume shooting the remaining six days of his schedule. The film, which also stars Rajpal Yadav and Shweta Bharadwaj, has already faced issues earlier with rains forcing the producers to stall the shoot for two days in a row. Well, we wish Om Puri a speedy recover, and wish him luck for the film where he also plans to make his debut in singing!Click here to read more
