Omi Vaidya - Latest News & Gossip
Happy Birthday, Omi Vaidya!
Best known for his relentlessly hilarious performance as the geeky Chatur in 3 Idiots, Omi Vaidya celebrates his 29th birthday today, January 10. Originally from Los Angeles, USA, Omi Vaidya found himself making inroads into the big, bad world of Bollywood when he was cast as the quirky Chatur in 3 Idiots. With his wobbly speech and anglicised Hindi, Omi won the hearts of his audience and his critics, and quickly became a household name. Since then he has appeared in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Desi Boyz and Players. Omi has studied filmmaking from New York University and was also seen in the sitcom Arrested Development, the comedy series The Office and several commercials. Married to his long time girlfriend Minal Patel, Omi will next be seen in the Bipash Basu – R Madhavan-starrer Jodi Breakers. We wish Omi a very happy birthday and a great year ahead!

PLAYERS Movie Review: All set to lose the game
Abbas-Mustan’s mega action-thriller Players, unlike their previous outing Race, doesn’t have many twists and turns initially but once they start spilling there’s no stopping them, turning an already boring film into a laughable and cringe-worthy affair. Read review…
Neil Nitin Mukesh’s character, Spidey, raises a toast and roars “may the best player win!” Sitting in the theatre waiting for the film to get over, you secretly mumble, may all the players be shot dead and let’s get it done with! Your mumbling doesn’t stop there. You secretly hope that none of the entities who have been bumped off so far get resurrected from their deathbed to stretch an already burdensome plot to the tipping point of boredom. But, alas, nobody’s really listening to you. Cars keep on somersaulting and the plot and sub-plot get all clogged up. Snazzy gadgets and shiny people get rolled out in some of the best locales in the world, but nothing seems to hold your interest. Even the best of camera work (Possibly, the only credit-worthy thing about Players) and the stunning-looking Bipasha and Sonam start getting on your nerves after a point. Watch the trailer of director Ashwini Chaudhary’s next comedy film where his leading actors Bipasha Basu and R Madhavan are on a heartbreaking spree
If the trailer of Jodi Breakers is anything to go by, the film will be a riot, thanks to the unusual casting. Maddy and Bips make a cute on-screen couple and together they make it work for the film. Click here to read moreSikandar Kher: I am not ashamed to ask for work
Despite back-to-back failures, the Players actor hasn’t given up on his dreams to be a successful part of tinselville. In a candid conversation Sikandar Kher says he won’t quit till he makes it big in B-town
Sikandar Kher belongs to a family (Kirron and Anupam Kher) hailed for acting excellence. Yet, the four-films-old actor is still to crack the success formula in Bollywood. Perhaps that’s why he is moving to the big bad world of masala entertainment after starting out with newbie filmmakers (Summer 2007, Woodstock Villa). After Ashutosh Gowariker’s patriotic bio-pic Khele Hum Jee Jaan Say, he will be seen in Abbas-Mustan’s slick thriller, Players. The Saat Khoon Maaf actor returns this year in Abbas Mastan’s action drama, Players. In a freewheeling chat he talks about his next film and his idea of good cinema…
Neil Nitin Mukesh, dressed in denims and full-sleeved T-shirt, seems relaxed in appearance and demeanour. And why not? It’s nearly after a year that the Saat Khoon Maaf actor will be seen in a film, this one called Players. The 29-year-old plays a nerdy computer whizkid in Abbas Mastan’s thriller. Neil refuses to reveal very much about Bollywood’s official version of Hollywood’s The Italian Job, but he does say his role is in the same space – grey shades and out-of-the-box – as his previous onscreen characters.
