The filmmaker has been asked to make six cuts in his film for various objectionable portions

After declaring Chakravyuh song Tata, Birla a ‘personal attack’, the Central Board of Film Certification has now put pressure on filmmaker Prakash Jha to delete some portions where there is an apparent direct taunt at Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The line in question – Bahut dekhi teri sardari – is seen by the censor board as a ‘pointed reference’ to the PM, as he is a Sardar belonging to the Sikh community. Click here to read more

Chakravyuh song Tata, Birla is a ‘personal attack: Censor board

We wonder why filmmaker Prakash Jha’s films always run in to some trouble or the other before their release. His latest film Chakravyuh, starring Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol and Esha Gupta, has courted controversy, too. This time, it’s not for any issue but for a song that names the country’s top industrialists, and also an international one.
Featuring Abhay and sung by Kailash Kher, the song goes thus: Tata, Birla, Ambani aur Bata, sab ne hai desh ko kaata. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) refused to pass the song not once but twice, as it felt the lyrics seemed like a personal attack. Click here to read more
