Ali Zafar was the first choice for ‘Bittoo Boss’

Yogen Shah

It seems Ali Zafar was the first actor, who was approached for the lead role in Bittoo Boss, but considering he was tied up with London Paris New York and other projects, he had to let go of the film

One actor rejecting a role and the other gaining out of it is not a very new thing in B-town. Something similar happened to singer-actor Ali Zafar when he hesitated in giving his nod to the role of Bittoo videographer in the soon to release Bittoo Boss. His reluctance made the makers of the film hunt for new faces and eventually Pulkit Samrat turned out to be the chosen one. Click here to read more

Ayesha Takia: I don’t want to be a bimbette in the background

After a short break Ayesha Takia, happily settled into married life, returns to the silver screen with Nagesh Kukunoor’s Mod. In a quick chat the talented actor reveals that henceforth she will only do roles that will go down in the history of worthwhile Hindi cinema

While everyone thought that Ayesha Takia would not act after her marriage to long-time beau Farhan Azmi, she did not think so. She wanted to do films that would touch and move her and her fans. So once again she teamed up with her rakhi brother and favourite filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor for his forthcoming Mod. Apart from her personal rapport with the director, Ayesha says, “The role is a woman-centric one, but apart from that I am a sucker for romance. So if someone is trying to tell a story about love, I would love to be part of it. When Nagesh said it’s his first love story and it centres around the journey of this girl, I was excited to do it. And it has proven to be so, as I have watched the film several times and thoroughly loved it.” Click here to read more

Nagesh Kukunoor: ‘Mod’ is an unusual Bollywood love story

Critically acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor in a chat about his latest film Mod and how he wants to make action, crime and sci-fi films in the future

In Bollywood, love stories are more common than anything else. So why would someone want to watch Mod? What is so special about it? Well, Mod is a love story but it is not the kind you see in Bollywood today. For me love stories work only when characters are mismatched and the journey of falling in love is equally important if not more than the actual act of falling in love. If you as the audience already know yes these two people are already made for each other then the fun is lost, but if the characters are quirky as it is in Mod you wonder that how are these two people going to come together. Having said that, there is also an element of mystery associated with the film. Click here to read more
