Pune 52 trailers: Detective thrillers are back in Marathi cinema
The Marathi film, to release with English subtitles, has been in the news for its story and cinematography

Katrina Kaif, Sarath Kumar and Sneha join the list of actor’s in Rajinikanth’s latest film
The Superstar’s Kochadaiyaan continues to be in the news. After we heard about the strong possibility of our Katrina Kaif joining the cast, now come some confirmed tidings. Tamil powerhouse Sarath Kumar is all set to play a pivotal role in Thalaivar’s next outing. He will play Rajini’s brother-in-law. He’ll essay the role of Sneha’s husband, a role that the Superstar thought he was apt for after watching his tremendous performance in the Mammootty-starrer Pazhassi Raja. Incidentally, the film will be Sneha’s last as she’s set to retire from the arclights after making her relationship with actor Prasanna public. Mumbai-based director, actor, playwright, screen writer and filmmaker Satyadev Dubey was best known for his play Andha Yug – a comment on the futility of war – by Dharamvir Bharti, which he staged in 1962. It is said that Dubey, who was born in Bilaspur in present day Chhattisgarh in 1936, had moved to Mumbai to become a cricketer. But he ended up in theatre. Director Bhanu Bharti, who produced Andha Yug, told IANS: “He was a remarkable man because he had carved a space for himself on the Marathi stage despite not being a Maharashtrian. He singlehandedly started a new theatre movement.” Critics say that Dubey courted controversy with his criticism of English theatre in India in the 1960s and ’70s, saying it was a colonial legacy and only the elite took part in it. However, he later switched to English theatre himself when he felt that the medium had freed itself from the baggage of British and American influence and English had developed and Indian idiom on stage. Actor Sonali Kulkarni played the lead role in Sakhi. She remembered how Gautam gave her a lot of confidence and self respect from the start of their friendship. “I knew Gautam since my first photoshoot in 1998. Apart from being the best photographer, he was very fond of Indian classical music and Marathi literature. He loved each and every art form. With Sakhi, he never forced his ‘writer’ attitude on us while on the sets of the movie. His passing away is a huge loss to the Marathi and Hindi film industries.”Click here to read more
