Handsome hunk Arjun Rampal has grabbed the covetous role of Sher Khan, the baddie-turned-buddy of Amitabh Bachchan’s character in Zanjeer in the classic’s remake. Apparently, the model-turned-actor overtook Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood who were also in line for consideration for the popular part. Legendary actor Pran played the part in the original, sporting mehndi-coloured beard and hair and singing the popular number Yaari hai imaan. Director Apoorva Lakhia, who will direct the modern-day version of the1977 action drama, felt the lean and mean-looking Arjun suited Sher Khan’s role better than Sanjay and Sonu. We don’t know if Arjun will manage to provide the right emotions and expressions required for the character, but he will definitely make a delectable devil-turns-dost.
