Just when seasoned musicians in India are questioning Atif Aslam’s ability to sing, the Pakistani vocalist picked a verbal fight with none other than Asha Bhosle. We hear that so miffed was Bhosle with Atif’s rude remarks and his indecent behaviour, that she left the reality show they were shooting for. Singing legend Asha Bhosle will be one of the judges on Sahara One’s Sur Kshetra, a new reality show that will feature singers from India and Pakistan. A source told IANS that the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan winner, who has sung evergreen numbers like Mehbooba mehbooba, Piya tu ab to aaja, Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko and Dum maro dum, will be one among three judges on the show. The other two names will be officially announced soon by the channel. Other names associated with the show include singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya and hit Pakitani singer Atif Aslam, who will captain the Indian team and the Pakistan team respectively. Two other Pakistani legendary singers, Abida Parveen and Runa Laila are also touted to judge the show. The host of the show, expected to be launched in February, is yet to be announced. Sur Kshetra is being produced by Gajendra Singh of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Antakshri fame, founder and managing director, Saaibaba Telefilms.

Ayesha Takia to make her debut on small screen!
Looks like plenty of B-townies are getting attracted to the small screen and the newest one treading on this path is Ayesha Takia Azmi! The last we saw her was in Nagesh Kukunoor’s Mod after which she sort of vanished. According to rumours, Ayesha wasn’t just sitting whiling her time away. The babelicious actor was busy getting ready for musical reality show. With Rs 85 lakh as her signing amount, Ayesha takes on the role of the anchor on the show, and will share screen space with music mentors Himesh Reshammiya and Atif Aslam along with judges Suresh Wadkar, Runa Laila and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Not bad! After marrying longtime boyfriend Farhan Azmi, Ayesha wasn’t really doing much for the big screens. So maybe it is the right time to explore smaller territories. Not that TV is small anymore. With biggies like Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan vying for the top spot on television, it’s only fair to call it the ‘big move’ for Ayesha.

The first song of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza starrer Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya has been released on the iTunes service. It can be easily downloaded. Tips Music has released the track Piya o re piya, crooned by Atif Aslam and Shreya Ghoshal, much before the release of the album. The romantic-comedy will see the real-life couple – Riteish and Genelia – romancing on the big screen after a gap of eight years. They came together for the first time in their debut film Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. “I have seen the rush shoots of the film and they are amazing. Riteish and Genelia are looking great together. I am sure audiences will love them and we are going to get great response, fingers crossed. God bless us all,” said producer Kumar Taurani of Tips Industries. Sachin-Jigar of Shor in the City fame have composed the music. Directed by debutant Mandeep Kumar, it is slated to release next year.
