Mallika Sherawat’s item song ‘Laila’ fails to sizzle

Mallika Sherawat’s item song ‘Laila’ fails to sizzle

After making the nation groove on her Jalebi bai tune a year back, Mallika Sherawat has returned with her latest item song Laila for the film Tezz. But this time around the Hisss babe doesn’t quite get it right
The trend started with Malaika Arora Khan’s Chaiyya chaiyya in Dil Se (1998) and Shilpa Shetty’s Main aayi UP Bihar lootne in Shool (1999), fired up by Yana Gupta’s Babuji zara dheere chalo from Dum (2003). In 2011, Mallika Sherawat’s Jalebi bai from Double Dhamaal grabbed the audience’s attention and Kat as Chikni Chameli in Agneepath set the screen on fire early 2012. But we know that every trend hits a plateau and then the decline starts before a fresh fad, a better trend comes along. Mallika’s Laila in Tezz in all probability is likely to mark the end of the trend that has had the nation grooving. Click here to read more
