The actor turned director reveals her love for food and her wish to judge a cookery show
She calls herself a foodie and loves to cook for her loved ones in her free time. Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt says she’d love to judge a cookery show on the small screen as long as the quality of cookery shows improves in the country. She believes filming of food is an “art”, and says the desi idiot box lacks the quality that international cookery shows exude. “If somebody asks me, then why not,” the 42-year-old told IANS when asked if she’d ever judge a cookery show on TV.Click here to read more
‘MasterChef India Season 2’ to kick off tomorrow on Star Plus
Indian television’s clutter breaking show, Master Chef India Season 2, is all set to hit television screens starting tomorrow. Hosted and judged by renowned Chef Vikas Khanna, this brand new season aims to take viewers on a never-seen-before gastronomical journey & bring a change in the way India perceives, cooks & presents food as Vikas Khanna’s gastronomic philosophy is delivering innovative and luxurious meals, laying special emphasis on ingredients, taste, flavours and textures, which have won many hearts across the globe.
Vikas started his own catering business, Lawrence Gardens, at the age of 17 and the business is still thriving today. Vikas is the Executive Chef of the highly regarded Junoon Restaurant, a multi-million dollar project written about widely by the New York press. He has also authored several books including The Spice Story of India, Modern Indian Cooking and his latest Flavors First that released on Aug 15th 2011. Vikas, also is the creator of The Holy Kitchens, a series of documentary films that explore sharing food in different faiths. This year in July, Vikas cooked a Saatvik meal for the Dharmic Seva Conference for Hindu American Seva Charities at the White House. MasterChef India Season 2: Royal Challenge tomorrow (12-11-2011)
MasterChef India Season 2 contestants have a mighty Royal Challenge this week. They have to cook for a Royal Engagement Ceremony that’s being organized in Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh Palace.
Unaware of this challenge, India’s top Zaykebaaz arrive at Jodhpur Airport from where they are all driven to the Palace. As the contestants get down at the Palace, they are given a very warm welcome in traditional royal rajasthani andaaz. Flower petals & scented water is showered on them. Rajasthani dancers greet them in traditional style by performing folk dance. Unable to resist the captivating music & the whirls, some of the contestants too join them. But the question that what’s in store for them in the palace, remains in their head. Not keeping the contestants guessing for long, Chef Vikas Khanna reveals that they are all there as the guests of Kunwar Manvendra Singh Shekhawat ji, son of Maharaja Meghnath Singh Ji and they have to cook for the royal engagement ceremony of Kunwar.Click here to read more
