Emraan Hashmi, Dibakar Banerjee face legal music for ‘Bharat mata ki jai’ from ‘Shanghai’
It’s slightly late in the day, but a group of people have woken up to the controversial song Bharat mata ki jai from Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai. Two residents of Jodhpur, Vikas Sharma and Akash Ojha representing a religious voluntary organisation, Parshuram Sewa Dal have filed a petition at the local court, against the duo for mocking the motherland in the song. They feel the lyrics of Bharat mata ki jai offend sentiments of patriotic people. Following the legal orders from the Jodhpur court, a case has been registered against Emraan Hashmi – on whom the song is picturised – and director Dibakar, at the local police station. So far neither the actor nor the director has reacted to the court’s order.
