DON 2 Quick Movie Review: Shahrukh Khan is truly wicked

DON 2 Quick Movie Review: Shahrukh Khan is truly wicked

Our critic is viewing Don 2 right now, and we heard from him saying that Shahrukh Khan rocks in Farhan Akhtar’s film. The film matches the first part as far as the slickness quotient is concerned, and in fact, takes it to another level. Priyanka Chopra plays the sexy but tough cop act well. The interactions between her character and Don are worth watching. Once again, Don entertains with his one-liners, his wicked charm and his ruthlessness. For viewers exposed to international films, it might be a mish-mash, but it’s still worth it. Not many films like these are made in India. The only film which looks close to Don 2 right now is Abbas Mustan’s Players in terms of the action and cinematography. So go watch Don 2. It’s a thriller not to be missed! Don 2 stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kunal Kapoor, Boman Irani and Lara Dutta among others. It releases Friday, December 23.

DON 2 movie review: No logic, but Shahrukh Khan makes magic

DON 2 movie review: No logic, but Shahrukh Khan makes magic

But for King Khan, Farhan Akhtar’s sequel to his Don is a total waste of time. It has stunning visuals, slick action but little else
Don 2 is a treat for Shahrukh Khan fans – he carries this larger-than-life role with élan like only he can, but the story is a let-down. It starts off well and, if you liked the previous Don, your expectations rise every minute. But an hour into the film you start shifting in your seat, hoping that some magic spell will save it for you. Alas, nothing like that happens and by the time the film ends, you really don’t care about anyone or anything going on onscreen, despite the twist thrown in towards the end. Click here to read more

Amrish Shah: Don is not a villain!

Amrish Shah: Don is not a villain!

We caught up with Amrish Shah, co-writer of Don 2, to find out if Don ko pakadna mumkin hai (Is it possible to catch Don)?
Amrish Shah was floored when he saw Farhan Akhtar’s Don. “I simply loved his treatment,” he said. But the story didn’t end there. “I could see the character of ‘Don’ going to the next level,” he explains, apparently awed by the fact that a character could be so sharp and cunning that he got the good guy killed and walked away scot free. So he went to Farhan with the idea. “He loved it.” Amrish grins. And Don 2 was born. But, guess what! Even after being so closely associated with the character, ‘Don’ is not Amrish’s favourite villain. Click here to read more
