    Fardeen Khan charged for drug possession

    Back in 2001 actor Fardeen Khan was allegedly caught with 9 gm of cocaine. In a statement given to the cops, the actor had said he was negotiating to buy one gram of cocaine. After more than a decade, he heaves a sigh of relief as the Mumbai court has given out the final verdict. While the No Entry actor has been charged for possessing drugs, it is only for one gram of cocaine. And on November 2 his punishment – six months jail or Rs 10,000 fine – will be decided. According to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the maximum punishment for possession of less than 2 gm banned drugs is five years of imprisonment whereas the maximum punishment for possessing more than 2 gm of banned drugs is 10-year imprisonment.
